An emphasis on the patient’s perspective and the clinical alliance is reflected in the four pillars of CAMS: empathy, collaboration, honesty, and suicide focus… [CAMS] provides a practical roadmap for incorporating CAMS into any clinical practice.

CAMS is arguably one of the most widely used approaches to clinical care for suicidal patients… User friendly and accessible, the CAMS model can be readily integrated into any clinician’s therapeutic practice, regardless of background or training.

Are you concerned about the increasing rates of suicide among teens and young adults? As mental health professionals, we know that suicide is a complex issue that requires effective prevention programs and procedures. That’s why we’re excited to offer a training program that will teach you how to adapt the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) Framework to help your at-risk adolescent patients.
The CAMS Framework is an evidence-based therapeutic assessment and treatment model that emphasizes collaboration and transparency between therapist and patient. With our training program, you’ll learn how to use the Suicide Status Form (SSF) as a guide to gather information about your patient’s current experience and suicide risk. You’ll also learn how to work collaboratively with your adolescent patients to devise treatment and stabilization plans that build trust and mutual understanding.
Our program includes 9 tips and adjustments for adapting the CAMS Framework specifically for working with youth, such as
- implementing breaks
- involving the teen in the assessment process
- showing the teen how the interventions work; and
- Involving parents and caregivers through the Stabilization Support Plan.
By the end of the program, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of the CAMS Framework and how to apply it with your adolescent patients. You’ll also learn how to involve parents as you work collaboratively with your adolescent patients to devise treatment and stabilization plans that build trust and mutual understanding.
Join our training program today and start making a difference in the lives of your at-risk adolescent patients.
